I popped in to Mozza today on my drive back from the Santa Monica's Farmers' market to the office on the off chance that Nancy Silverton was available to interview - (I have already interviewed Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich for my fall story) and to my utter surprise the Mozza To Go 'shop' had opened minutes before! I was their second customer. It really felt like we were all back in kindergarten playing pizza to go!
I was thrilled to see the beautiful interior - and then of course to order pizzas to go - and best of all - see Nancy behind the counter. My first act - to twitter it! I felt like this was a big scoop that came from plain old good timing and luck.

The shop is small and intimate - a beautiful jewel box interior. The marble counters and dark wood shelves are full of cookies, pasta, oils, truffle salt, honey, Further soap and candles - everything you would expect from Mozza and more.
Nancy was bursting with excitement - as was I. I snapped a few pics and even sent my camera off to the kitchen to get a shot of pizzas in the oven cooking

Having ordered one of every pastry they have I waited patiently for Matt Molina to cook my pizzas. He popped out to say hi - hadn't seen him since Vegas - between layering on the tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese!
Leaving Mozza2go with pizzas and sweet treats I headed straight to the office to share.

I loved this little note - Please don't put my pizza in the microwave. Reheat in the oven at 350° for about 12 Min. Enjoy - Nancy Silverton

They were so delicious - no need to heat up - luckily for us the office is around the corner and they were still pipping hot. And they do travel just fine...
BUON APPETITO!

Thank you!
Lucy,
Your timing was even more impeccable because I was deliberating snacking on something since lunch left me hungry. You were like an angel and the two pizza boxes were your wings!
That crust is crunchy goodness.
THANK YOU!!!
