Eat the Magazine Dinner at Providence November 18th

EAT THE MAGAZINE DINNER
AT PROVIDENCE
WITH
CHEF MICHAEL CIMARUSTI

NOVEMBER 18th 2009

edible Los Angeles is pleased to announce that on November 18th we will be celebrating our fall issue at Providence with a dinner prepared by LA's top chef Michael Cimarusti and hosted by Donato Poto. Chef Michael is featured under our Back of House 5 x 5 story and he and Donato can be seen in the Sea to Plate video on this site. Jonathan Gold, LA's Pulitzer prize winning food critic recently called Providence 'One of Los Angeles best restaurants if not its very best restaurant.' Now is your chance to come and experience the highest quality ingredients and such refined technique at LA's 'very best restaurant', Providence and celebrate the edible season with us.

The dinner is in association with the Aquarium of the Pacific and their Seafood for the Future program.  This one-of-a-kind seafood program, created by the Aquarium of the Pacific, encourages healthy and environmentally responsible choices in sustainable seafood.  Providence and edible Los Angeles are proud to partner with the Aquarium's Seafood for the Future program in this important endeavor and hope to educate our diners and readers about this important issue.

We all know what a huge angler Michael is after our Sea to Plate story and the subsequent Fishing with Chefs trips that he and Donato are so much a part of. For those of you with no sea legs or not yet lucky enough to have experienced one of our fishing adventures we bring you the opportunity to wine and dine in style at Michael and Donato's two Michelin Stars restaurant. I know that those who have been on a fishing trip with us will be the first to hook a reservation - to share another joke with Donato, to learn another fishing skill or culinary technique from Michael or just to enjoy fish prepared in a way only a master chef such as Michael can. [I am wondering if Adrian Vasquez - the pastry Chef at Providence - can be persuaded to make his chocolate chip cookies that Michael and Donato bring to share on the boat?! Trust me you have never tasted a cookie this good.]

Join Chef Michael Cimarusti, Donato Poto, edible Los Angeles editor Lucy Lean and a room full of Angelenos who are passionate about their food choices for a delicious dinner featuring a menu of sustainable seafood choices and local fall ingredients. Seafood for the Future Program Manager, Andrew Gruel, along with Marine Biologist and Seafood Officer, Dave Anderson, will be on hand to discuss the program with guests. As an added bonus, each guest will receive one complimentary pass to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach and a signed copy of the Fall issue of edible Los Angeles.

Book early - this WILL sell out fast! Our last Eat the Magazine dinner at Grace sold out in 24 hours which left a lot of disappointed members of our growing food community. So don't delay - call Donato for a reservation for the 18th November today.
