Fishing Fun with my Foodie Friend

Donato Poto - Maitre d' Providence fishing with edible Los Angeles

From My Foodie Friend, Lynn

My friend, Kate, and I are very passionate about food, and we're always up for an adventure so we were more than excited to spend a Sunday afternoon fishing with edible Los Angeles and some top Los Angeles chefs.
Our journey began in Los Angeles as we headed South to San Pedro in search of the 22nd St. Landing. We arrived at noon for our 12:30pm departure giving us plenty of time to purchase a one day fishing license and rent our fishing rods.
We then checked in with Lucy Lean(editor/ edible Los Angeles) and boarded The Monte Carlo. We entered into the galley, and immediately met Ilse who invited us to join her and her husband, Meeno(who was photographing the day's festivities), at their table.  http://www.meenophoto.com/edible_la_fishing_2009/

SHOP WITH A CHEF AT THE SANTA MONICA FARMER’S MARKET

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2009

BY NANCY CIPES
So many of our local chefs shop at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market each Wednesday.  It’s the biggest market in the state, with the best selection of Farmers at one place at  one time.  This morning I spoke with Evan Funke, executive chef at Rustic Canyon restaurant on Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica.
